How long do orders take to ship?

As soon as you make a purchase with Ilium, we begin to process your order. Ground orders can take up to 1-2 business days to be packed and shipped. Once shipped, ground shipments can take as little as 4-5 business days to destinations on the East Coast and up to 5-10 business days to locations on the West Coast.

Express shipments and urgent shipments must be placed by 9 am Eastern Time to be processed on the same business day. If the order is placed after 9 am EST or on a holiday or weekend it will ship out the next business day.

For Express shipments, the shipping timeframe is 2-3 business days from the shipment date. US Federal Holidays do not count towards the shipping timeframe, please take this into consideration when placing your order near an upcoming holiday.

We know that shipping times are important to our customers, so we always try to beat these processing times so that our gear gets to you quickly.

What size am I?

We tailor our clothes with a modern fit to make most dudes look good. Not crazy boxy, but we're also not making skinny jeans here. Check out our Size Chart to find your best fit.

Can I change or modify an order?

Once an order has been placed, we can cancel within 24 hours and are able to make only minor modifications to color and size. We cannot make address changes, item changes, changes to the method of payment, or shipping methods changes once the order is placed. However, we are more than happy to help you cancel the order or return for a full refund once you have received your gear if needed. Our returns for online purchases are free and easy so you will not have to pay for return shipping.

If you forgot to apply your discount or promo code to your order, we cannot apply it after the order has been placed, but you can use the discount on your next order.

If you would like to add an item to a current order, please place a new order with that additional item.

Do your clothes have an integrated holster for my gun?

No, our clothes are not designed with an integrated holster for a gun. We realize people who carry likely have an existing favorite holster-belt combo from great companies who specialize in those areas.

We add to that growing community with clothes that actually work well with those existing products. Our garments are meant to improve those “dressier” brands’ offerings that do not consider or design with an everyday carry lifestyle in mind.

What does Ilium do differently?

We believe men should be able to carry their everyday gear, even on their best-dressed days. Dressier menswear has been left behind. Plenty of options exist for tactical, outdoorsy, athleisure, workwear, and overall casual clothes to make everyday carry easier. We love ‘em for it. But your nicer clothes? Not so much. And if you’re like us, going from professional office environment, to date nights and friend gatherings at night, cookouts and golfing on the weekends, nicer clothes are kind of your jam. And even if you’re sporting a lumberjack look, you still have rare occasions when you need to class it up a bit.

We’ve got you covered. We’re determined to be the nicest damn menswear in your closet, and replace whatever you have from the Bonobos, Brooks Brothers, Dockers, Chubbies, Birddogs, and J.Crew’s of the world. Those companies definitely aren’t aligned with an EDC lifestyle, so for us their garments have some really frustrating design aspects, including:

  • Not enough pockets!
  • Belt loops not large enough for EDC belts
  • Skinny, fragile belt loops ripping
  • Belt loops located exactly where I want to attach my holster clips (it’s so precise, it has to be intentional, right?)
  • Too few and poorly positioned belt loops, so the waistband sags when carrying items
  • Pocket locations that don’t match carry positions on duty / competition belts

These aspects are at the forefront of our designs. Ilium exists to evolve that section of your closet you reach for when maximum masculine style is required. You shouldn’t have to choose between looking good and being prepared.

This is Ilium – carry on your best-dressed days.

What does ilium mean?

Anatomy time. Your ilium (or ilia, because you have two of them) is the largest part of your hip bones. Anyone who has carried a rucksack or backpacked for a few miles know that you don’t actually “shoulder the burden;” your hips are the load-bearing points. We like that. When you choose to carry everyday gear to help others, you carry that duty both literally and figuratively with your ilium. Pretty philosophical, yeah? We thought so.

What's the origin story?

In Spring 2021, I bought a new pair of Chubbies. People had raved about the brand and I was excited to give 'em a shot. I enjoyed the shorts, but absolutely HATED wearing them because the belt loops were too small for my EDC belt, requiring meticulous threading through each loop, every time. On the third wear, forcing my newly purchased slim cobra buckle ("meant" for normal belt loops) painstakingly through each loop, I kinda hulked out and ripped the damn thing off.

It struck me. The problem isn't Chubbies. Or the belt loop. Or the slim cobra buckle. The problem is broader than that - at a very fundamental level, most clothing companies do not design with everyday carry (EDC) in mind. They just don't cater to us. Kind of a hot-button topic these days, one that most wouldn't dare touch.

I looked in my closet. The brands that made my carrying easy only made casual stuff: jeans, tough workwear pants, techy outdoorsy pants, or an attempt at a "chino" with visible knife pockets and zippers everywhere. Great for a range day, not so great with a blazer.

What's a dapper dude with gear to do? Pick one, I guess. Wrestle with nicer clothes poorly designed for gear, or go chronically under-dressed.

Ilium was created to solve this problem. Gear-toting guys deserve to be well-dressed with great clothing actually designed for the task.

We hope this helps you Carry On your best-dressed days.
